The Biochains Atlantic project was presented at the Connect’Biomasses held on 18th of November 2025 in Saint-Brieuc (Brittany Region, France). Biomass producers and users operate in very diverse sectors and do not naturally come into contact with one another. Connect’Biomasses is organized by Biotech Sante Bretagne and it helps to forge these essential links to foster the emergence of new projects across the biomass value chain.
The event brought together over 100 participants and generated more than 150 B2B meetings between biomass producers and users. It provided an opportunity for Gorenka Bojadzija Savic (European project manager at Biotech Santé Bretagne) to present the Biochains Atlantic project, funded by the Interreg Atlantic Area programme (2025–2028).
Gorenka Bojadzija Savic explained the project’s direct benefits for the algae sector in Brittany Region (France) and across Europe:
• Mapping existing stakeholders, resources and flows within the algae sector across the Atlantic Arc;
• Developing value chain models and a digital decision-support tool to assist businesses;
• Fostering exchanges through themed days, workshops and networking events;
• Strengthening the sector’s sustainability and competitiveness through technical, economic, environmental and regulatory analyses.
It was a great opportunity to raise the profile of the Biochains Atlantic among the relevant stakeholders.
